Educational Qualification

• Flying Branch: Graduate (any stream) with minimum 60% marks + Physics & Maths at 10+2 level.
• Technical Branch: Engineering degree in relevant disciplines.
• Non-Technical Branch: Graduation/Postgraduation in relevant fields.

Type of Commission

• Short Service Commission (SSC) is offered to both men and women in all branches.
• Flying Branch (SSC): 14 years of service.
• Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech): Initially for 10 years, extendable by 4 more years.
• Permanent Commission (PC): May be considered later, based on availability, suitability, and policy.

Note: SSC Officers are not entitled to a pension.

Physical & Medical Standards

• Must be physically and mentally fit.
• Should be able to:
  • Run 1.6 km in 10 minutes
  • Do 10 push-ups
  • Perform 3 chin-ups
• Medical fitness standards must match Air Force norms.

• Tattoos: Allowed only on inner forearms and back of hands.
